I was going to do a vintage thrift post yesterday, but I was having such a lovely weekend with my family I completely forgot until late in the afternoon, so it was too late to take decent pics. (I'm really over winter!) I'm kinda glad I waited as I get to include what I found today.
Check out this vintage dress and leather Oroton handbag. Cute outfit for under $30 :)
Two framed artworks. The first is an Australian themed cross-stitch dated
August 1967. Unfortunately there is some water damage so I'll need to re frame it. The second artwork is an original watercolour. It's signed and dated 1968. I can't quite make out the name of the artist.
I just had to have this book. 365 Animal Stories, printed 1974. The dust cover is a bit worn but i just love the illustrations.
This collection of classic children's stories really caught my eye. The Companion Library..I've never seen them before. They were printed in 1963
Finally, a snuggly warm wool blanket and a bright granny square rug.
What I didn't buy-
This 1950's kitchen table with four chairs.
I almost feel over when I first saw it. $150 for the whole set. But upon closer inspection I noticed that each chair had rips and there were some stains on the table...darn it.I knew it was too good to be true.
The search continues.
Happy thrifting everyone!
I love this blog! I'm a huge fan of thrift store shopping. I find tons of stuff I actually use and wear, but sometimes I have to make a little fun of the merchandise: http://cannygal.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/hidden-treasure-of-the-new-world/
